Life Sciences Career in 2025- Genetic Education Newsletter #2

Sun Jan 19, 2025

Welcome to our second newsletter of 2025.

In the previous newsletter, we asked your subject and got an amazing response, 28 Google form responses and 3 emails.

I'm amazed by your engagement! seriously not expected and truly I'm thankful for that.

Let's catch up on today's topic, how to be career-ready in 2025?

We life science aspirants "now I call you life science aspirants" because we have a very diverse community of life sciences learners, must have two basic skills- pipetting (with common lab techniques) and basic computational knowledge.

But that's enough in 2025? The harsh reality is NO.

Science has now changed and so have our life sciences. Lab automation is booming. Ready-to-use kits and extraction robots can do hours of work at half-time and without any human interference.

Meaning, that opportunities are shrinking. These two basic skills are no longer relevant! Again, a wake-up call for us.

What do we have to do now and what additional skill sets do we need?

Let me answer it.

First, a superior knowledge of assay optimization and troubleshooting and second "data analysis." Why I label it with bold letters, because that's demanding now! Labs and research organizations don't need lab labor, they need personnel who can have knowledge of data analysis as well as troubleshooting potential.

It's just the beginning of 2025, you need to focus on acquiring other skills. Do not restrict yourself to a lab, go outside, on the Internet or an expert who teaches you these skills. Particularly data analysis regarding various techniques or the technique in which you are interested.

Learn how to handle lab data, and bioinformatics analysis (not advanced but at least basic), operate various analysis pipelines and draw meaningful outcomes from the data.

 Serious about it!

let's do one more thing, I will add another Google form, just write, Yes, I'm serious or No, I'm not serious about this, I will correct the response and we will discuss the career opportunities in 2025 on a Google Meet.

Crazy idea right? Let's build the future-ready life science community.

Waiting for your response. Google form link: https://forms.gle/Wa8KMQXcLqxghfqW7

>>Note: I will communicate the live meeting time and date only to those who respond.

Till then enjoy our content on Instagram

 Cheers
